Vue Cloud Tutorial PDF Print E-mail

In this tutorial I will show you how I am creating the cloud animations found in the downloads section...

Ok - here's the scoop...

Starting with a new project here's what I go through....

  1. I pick the "default" sky - stick to the "Spectral" collections...
  2. I give some texture to the ground - just in case it's seen at all through the clouds - doesn't matter what - your choice
  3. I go to the Atmosphere editor and make sure I'm in the "Spectral" mode
  4. In the Clouds tab I Add a cloud layer... Pick from the "Clouds -> Spectral" collection - play with all of them but for this tutorial I'll be using "Low Clouds"
  5. Hit OK for now - we'll tweak in a bit...
  6. Highlight your camera in the "Objects" window and go to the "Numerics" tab above
  7. If you noticed when we added the low clouds - their altitude was 70m - change the "Z" of our camera to 90M (basically above the clouds)
  8. Hopefully you can already see that's not too bad right there ;) but if you render out a pic now you'll see that there's (IMHO) ugly shadows on the ground... I like to get rid of those - but that's really up to you... To get rid of them:
    1. Double Click on the "Sunlight" in the objects window
    2. Go to the "Shadows" tab and disable them...
  9. Now if you render (remember to always switch to "Final" or "Broadcast" in the render window) it looks really good (again IMHO) and you really haven't done too much :)
  10. Ok - some things you can tweak...
    1. You can start with a different sky preset
    2. You can adjust the height of the camera so you're flying through the clouds
    3. In the Atmosphere Panel - Clouds tab you can
      1. Play with the all of the settings to get a wide variety of looks
      2. Add another Cloud layer above or at the same height even
      3. What's nice is - as you change settings - your little preview window updates without having to hit OK :)

Ok - that's pretty much all I have for this one - have fun and shoot me a pic of what you make if you want :)

Here are some VUE source files! :) The clouds are different than the tutorial because they're different every time I play with the settings... hehe

Make Easy Money

Ok here's the latest! and this one is young so jump on it as soon as possible!
I made my money back and more with the Work for three dollars so this one's worth a shot too!
The key is getting in early! Don't wait to see if it works - it'll be too late! Cool

For $3.00 this is worth a try - I've spent $3.00 on crazier ideas ;)

basically you sign up for $3 and promote the site -anyone that signs up following your link gets in your "downline" and people "spill over" as well - so if you fill a level then the sign up would go under the next level and if your upline spills over it could spill into your downline as well... anyway - there's a potential to make a lot of money for $3 :)
